Founded in 2015, Gap Year Solutions has worked with 1,000+ students to educate them about gap years and help plan transformational gap year experiences including travel, internship placements, and professional skills training. Founder Katherine Stievater focuses on college and workplace readiness, and life skills such as decision making and independent living. A graduate of Georgetown University, she has four sons who have taken gap years, and has held multiple professional jobs outside the gap year world. These experiences make Katherine unique among accredited Gap Year Consultants and enable her to be an effective mentor to students during their gap time. She is a strong advocate for gap years, tireless speaker and author, and has appeared in the Wall Street Journal and other leading publications.
