Description of Services : Coach and mentor IECs seeking professional support and guidance; Guide high school juniors and seniors in their college admissions journey, individualized approach
Description of Experience : I love the uniqueness of every client, and every college campus. I work with clients and their families to find colleges that match who they are with who they want to become. I enjoy talking with students and athletes about their experiences both at the high school level and how they will transition to college. I help them identify learning styles, goals, and abilities. I usually begin working with high school sophomores and juniors. Once applications are in, I often continue to meet with seniors and their parents on 'senioritis,' transitions, GAP years, and expectations for the upcoming college experience.
In the past few years I have worked with athletes, students with 504 plans, first-generation college-bound, STEM-engineering and math, English as a second language, artists, dancers, theatre and film students.
College visits broaden my frame of reference for my clients. I make a point of visiting colleges across the country in person when I can. Since the pandemic began I have attended many virtual webinars with college admissions representatives from US to UK to Canada, small, medium, large, most selective to less selective.
I view the changing landscape of admissions as one of the most important aspects of working with students to help keep them and their parents informed so they can make decisions that fit them best.
I have been trained in Wow's Writing program and using it successfully with students, guiding them to write effective, personal, genuine and interesting essays. (I do not write the essays!) Students gain confidence and pride in their work through this approach. I am currently a Wow Partner and have been using the program for 5 years.
