In my private practice, I aim to provide rigorous support to students as they improve their critical reading and writing skills. Having taught college composition for 20 years, I am keenly aware of the challenges facing students as they transition from the high school classroom to college writing contexts. Expert in rhetorical strategies as well as grammatical accuracy, I also strive to cultivate student voice, particularly in the personal statement. Support in study skills, time management and organization can be incorporated into regular tutoring sessions. As a former AP reader and trained test prep tutor, I am skilled in helping advanced students score even higher on the verbal portions of the SSAT, SAT/ACT and AP English exams. Online revision assistance available after initial in-person consultation, as needed.
