LA Biotech Center

About

Founded in 2016, The LA Biotech Center is a unique hub for science education, biotechnology research and professionally equipped wet-lab facilities.  At the heart of our mission is a deep commitment to training the next generation of scientists.  We offer a wide array of lab training and science education programs for students in middle and high school. Originally founded at USC, our hands-on science programs provide the technical skills, scientific knowledge, mentorship, and career guidance students need to excel academically and professionally. With small class sizes and instruction from PhD scientists, students gain confidence, scientific literacy, and a deep understanding of the scientific process. Our initiatives go beyond traditional instruction to provide real-world experiences, including hands-on work with stem cells, exposure to biotech career paths, research training, and internship preparation. Students are transported into the shoes of actual scientists where they experience authentic learning that brings text-book science to life. No other programs provide hands-on instruction in a biotech research lab, guided by professional industry scientists who are as passionate about teaching as they are about science.
