Monday, December 16, 2024 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) (EST)

Description

HECA has a newly created (ad hoc) Affordability Committee! The Affordability Committee includes HECA members Liane Crane, Melissa Mieyr, Peter Lampert, and Committee Chair, Cathy Copeland Titus. The committee's goal is to provide content and resources for all IECs, regardless of knowledge level.

Join us for open office hours on December 16 from 12:00-1:00 pm ET. This is a time to drop in and ask any questions you may have about college funding, timelines, FAFSA, CSS, Award letters, or anything our expert committee members can help you with!

Affordability Committee:

 Cathy Copeland Titus
Independent Educational Consultant and List HERO Software Developer

As an IEC, I consider myself an educator first by helping families define their higher education goals and lay the pathway to achieve them. I believe it’s essential to keep learning, to provide value to my clients, and do some good in the overall community. Along with managing a small caseload of students, I have launched the List HERO, data driven software made for IECs to create college lists that honor the student and stay within the family’s budget.

 Liane Crane
 Finance & Student Loan Consultant

With 15 years in the college niche,  I started focusing solely on finances so I could educate families about paying for college. With three in college at the same time, I needed to become an expert! My specialty is helping parents early on, understand financial aid, those financial aid forms and the true cost of college for them. Then, how to pay for it. I also help graduates understand their debt and repayment options. I am a very passionate college finance counselor dedicated to doing my part to help with the enormous debt surrounding a college education.

 Peter Lambert
Independent Educational Consultant, Financial Advisor, & Investment Manager

I enjoy pulling together the technical intricacies of the Higher Education and Reauthorization Act, the Internal Revenue Code, and the maze of proper college selection with the inner workings of personal finance. My real reward is seeing motivated and focused students pursuing their dreams while parents are able to continue pursuing their financial dreams.

 Melissa Mieyr
 College & Financial Consultant

I am a college planning advisor who partners with families to help them attain their academic goals while maintaining the families’ financial stability. After spending over twenty years helping students explore their academic and career options as an educator and certified school counselor, I know that these decisions that are made can truly have life-changing outcomes.
