University of Vermont: This presentation will provide an overview of Environmental Science program at RSENR including: general info on the program & alternative pathways (i.e. our other RSENR majors), the "admitted student profile" – what makes for a successful student in the program, considerations while in HS, competitive program?, etc., and experiences at UVM – what makes our program/School special.

Robin Colt
HECA Member, Independent Educational Consultant
Robin's academic path began at the University of Vermont, where she obtained a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Sustainable Agriculture. She earned a M.S. in Environmental Studies and Science teacher certification at Antioch University New England. She most recently studied College Admissions Counseling at UCLA's highly regarded certificate program. Robin's diverse twenty-year career in education encompasses roles as an AP science teacher and academic advisor in private boarding and public schools, ski patroller and EMT, alpine ski racing coach, therapeutic wilderness guide, and AP Exam Reader (scorer) for the College Board. Robin is an active member of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA) and College Consultants of Colorado (CCC) and loves traveling to visit college campuses. She bases her virtual and in-person independent college counseling business near Aspen, CO, where she lives with her husband, two young sons, and their energetic golden doodle.
Cathy Shiga-Gattullo
Professional Advisor, Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources, University of Vermont
Cathy Shiga-Gattullo (she/her) is a Professional Advisor in the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources, where she works with students in academic, personal, and social areas. She also coordinates career development programs, alumni engagement, and the Peer Mentor program. She is the recipient of the Marcia Caldwell Award for Advising. Cathy has a B.A. in Art History and an M.S.Ed. in Museum Education. Before entering her current advising role, she worked at museums, science centers, planetariums, parks, and nature preserves doing education, interpretation, program and exhibit development, evaluation, and grant-writing. She has served as a mentor in Yonkers, Newburgh, New Paltz and the Adirondack Experience in New York. Outside of work, Cathy loves cooking and exploring all Vermont has to offer in all seasons!
