Learning Lab: Advising Aspiring Student-Athletes
How do you help advisees determine whether they are aspiring student-athletes? Can this process actually holistically benefit their college search? (spoiler: YES! It SHOULD!). Together we'll discuss how to help students navigate the recruiting process — from what they should know about "ID Camps" and the pay-to-play sport universe, to the differences between NCAA divisions and other affiliations — and explore the opportunities aspiring student-athletes have at highly selective institutions.
The featured topic will be “How IEC’s who are NOT athletic experts can best support their advisees who express interest in varsity intercollegiate athletics.”
