Description of Services : 9-10th Grade
High School Curriculum Development, explore and identify extracurricular and leadership opportunities for HS students and well as discuss summer programs and internships that may benefit them presently and in the future. Work with the family to identify testing methods that work best for them.

11th Grade:
Research and develop college list, attend college fairs with clients, develop topics for personal essays, work with families on college visits

12th Grade:
Finalize the application process with clients, work on Financial aid and scholarship opportunities and aid in the decision making process with the student and families

Description of Experience : Jodi L.G. Glou, M.A. has been an enthusiastic and dedicated communicator, educator, tutor and academic planner for over 25 years. As the founder and owner of Custom College Consulting, LLC, she works with high school students, young adults and their families to help find their best fit in post-secondary education including students with learning differences, special talents (including athletes and artists) and especially those who are struggling with the entire decision and application process.

Ms. Glou also worked as an English professor and composition tutor at the Montgomery College Rockville Campus from 2006-2018 and University of Maryland University College from 2016-2018.

While specializing in English composition and curriculum counseling, Ms. Glou also incorporates a variety of strategies in her tutoring that are tailored to the individual student to help improve their executive functioning skills. In addition, she utilizes both face-to-face and online methods, such as Google Docs and Skype, to work with students remotely as well as one-on-one. Ms. Glou hopes to provide students of varying levels the necessary confidence to achieve their academic and personal goals.

Prior to working as an education consultant, Ms. Glou was a full-time faculty member at American University’s School of Communication. During her tenure there, she co-authored many journal articles and co-authored The PR Style Guide which became a resource for many public relations schools, firms and departments throughout the United States.

Before moving into the education arena, Ms. Glou specialized in the communication field. Working for a combined five years for Hill and Knowlton and Feld Entertainment, Glou traveled the world and worked on many different campaigns that gave her the knowledge and skills that provided her with the foundation to make her the dedicated teacher she is today.
