Description of Services : Spotlight College Advising provides the full scope of college admission services. We offer both hourly and comprehensive packages. Our comprehensive package includes an average of 12-15 meetings as well as essay editing time. Approximately 35-45 hours total.The timing and order of these services is based on the needs of each student, and includes the following: Transcript review and course planning, Standardized test planning, Advice on summer activities and enrichment opportunities, Activities review and resume development, Advising on college visits, fairs and research, Student interest assessments & questionnaires, Development of College lists with timetables & deadlines,Application strategy, Guidance on application process, Assistance with personal statements/essays, including help with brainstorming and idea development & editing, Interview preparation, General financial aid & scholarship information, Review of acceptance letters.Throughout the process we will help students focus on organizational tools, as well as, attention to deadlines and application details. If a client elects to go with our hourly package they are required to buy a minimum four hour block, but will then select the items from the comprehensive package that they would like to cover. Our goal is to provide flexibility to those families that do not want or cannot afford the comprehensive program.

Description of Experience : Prior to founding Spotlight College Advising I worded for 3.5 years at Partners For Achievement. The first year I worked exclusively in marketing and outreach, but as I became more experienced in the college admissions process I lead a variety of student workshops including professional prep/resume, standout factor and paying for college. I worked with students on interview prep, testing and ultimately was responsible for overseeing both the marketing/outreach and the essay program. I was fortunate to work with a number of counselors that provided me with ongoing support.
