Description of Services : I'm passionate about adolescent development and education. My services assist students in finding schools that are a good match academically, socially, and financially, while navigating the increasingly competitive and rapidly changing college application process.

Description of Experience : April Paris-Joseph earned her BA from Middlebury College completing a double major in Political Science and Spanish with a double minor in Latin American Studies and French. She subsequently earned her MA in Latin American Studies from Stanford University. April's pre-mom career included teaching middle and high school Spanish. While raising her family April found herself studying college admissions starting over fifteen years ago when her oldest son was in high school thinking about college. She stayed connected to the process and grew a soft spot for student athletes, as she assisted her own four children through the recruiting process. When it came time to join the paid work force again April found college counseling brought together both her passion for education and love of teenagers. Over the years, April has helped countless of her children's teammates and friends navigate, recruiting, essay writing, merit and financial aid and other aspects of college admissions. April earned her Certificate in College Counseling with Distinction from UCLA and began officially working as a college counselor during the 2021-2022 application cycle. The student athletes that worked with April all secured a roster spots on a D1, D3 or NAIA teams. In total her class of 2022 students gained admissions to over 50 unique colleges with over $2 million in combined merit aid. April enjoys walking students through the various elements of the college application process especially self discovery and essay writing while guiding them to find colleges that are the right fit for them socially, academically and financially
