Description of Services : • Explain and facilitate the college admission process for families
• Conduct an interest profile with students to help them explore strengths and passions to help access their academic and career options
• Identify a list of criteria to help students in their college search
• Ensure that students have the requisite academic courses to qualify for admission
• Advise students in their selection of extracurricular and volunteer activities
• Support students with their use of Naviance, if available in their district
• Personalize a college plan for students with learning differences or other special issues
• Advise families on financial aid and scholarship matters
• Suggest appropriate essay topics and work with students throughout the editing process
• Work 1:1 with students on their essays
Description of Experience : • Work privately with high school juniors and seniors on college planning
• Work in College Access programs
• Help low income, under-represented, and First Generation students create academic and financial plans for college.
• Guide high school AVID students through the college application process
• Providing editing assistance to students on college essays
