I am a college advising specialist with a certificate in career and college counseling from UC Berkeley. I mentor applicants who are applying for first-year and graduate school programs, as well as transfer students. I offer comprehensive, individualized support and have been resourcing clients to express their best selves in their applications for 6 years. I am bi-coastal, having a strong knowledge of California and East Coast colleges.
Description of Services : Provide individualized support throughout the application and admissions process with the exception of financial aid and test prep tutoring.
Description of Experience : I've been a full-time IEC since 2016. Prior, I was a Lecturer at Sonoma State University, where I taught for the English department, the EOP Academy and the University Studies department. As a faculty member, I worked with numerous students helping them apply for graduate programs. I also mentored students who needed assistance to transfer to other universities. My teaching in the EOP Academy was especially meaningful because I taught and advised many first-gen college students. Today, many of my former students are still in touch with me and I work pro bono, mentoring them as they apply for further education. I find being an IEC a healthy challenge and really enjoy this work. It also was extremely helpful getting my certificate in Career and College Counseling at UC Berkeley. I am building my business slowly and thoughtfully and am proud of the support I am giving college applicants.
