Description of Experience : Julie Silver, founder of Positioned for Admissions, earned her bachelor’s degree at Brown University and master’s degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Early in her career, Julie specialized in public relations, nonprofit administration, and educational publishing in and around Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. After seven years as an alumni interviewer for Brown in the Cherry Hill, NJ area, Julie became an independent college admissions consultant. Since then, she has successfully guided a wide variety of students and parents through the college admissions process. Julie is a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association and subscribes to HECA standards of good practice. She stays abreast of current trends and developments in college admissions by attending conferences, workshops, and webinars sponsored by HECA and other professional organizations, such as the Independent Educational Consultants Association and the New Jersey Association for College Admission Counseling. She also visits college campuses on a regular basis. Whether her clients are average students or National Merit scholars, recreational athletes or accomplished artists and performers, and whether they are undecided about a college major or career-focused, Julie enjoys the challenge of finding colleges that match each student’s individual needs. With her attention to detail, warmth, and sense of humor, Julie strives to make the college admissions process as painless as possible for students and their families.
