Academic Support: Help you identify academic areas where outside support could be beneficial and recommend tutors.

Strategy Guidance: Help you understand identify strategies to help you maximize your academic, extra-curricular, and summer pursuits to best support your personal story.
College Communication: Offer advice regarding college fairs, follow up emails, communication with college admissions regional representatives to highlight your “demonstrated interest”.
Standardized Testing: Assist you in planning and creating a calendar for standardized testing and recommend test prep tutors, if requested.
College List: Help you develop a customized and balanced list of prospective colleges taking into consideration your academic profile, needs, and goals. Assist you in evaluating early application options.
Activity List/Resume: Advise you in compiling and presenting your full profile of academic accomplishments and activities including all work, community service, and summer pursuits.
School Survey & 'Brag Sheet' Review: Explain the importance of the school survey and work to complete it as honestly & thoroughly as possible to give the school counselor a complete picture.
College Campus Visits & Interview Preparation: Help create a plan for campus visits, information sessions and tours. Discuss interviews and conduct mock interviews for practice.
Common App Essay: Brainstorm topics through specific exercises to zero in on the best topic to reveal an honest and compelling picture of who you are. Work together through multiple drafts and edits resulting in a polished and authentic essay.
Supplemental Essays: Review supplemental questions and provide guidance for effective supplemental essays that are college specific.
Common Application Activity List: Review and discuss the presentation of activities to include on the Activity List emphasizing the best description of each and in order of priority.
Teacher Recommendations: Advise you in choosing teachers who are optimal for writing letters of recommendation. Discuss the possibility of supplementary letters.
Athletic Recruiting: Explain the complexities, process, timing and recruiting rules for Division I, II or III athletic prospects when appropriate.
Final Decisions & Waitlist Strategy: Help you evaluate admission offers to determine the best-fit college for you. Develop a strategy for waitlist and deferral decisions.
Description of Experience : I have counseled students for applications for high school, college, transfers, and grad school, but my primary focus is college. I attended the IECA Summer Training Institute and the Harvard Summer Institute on College Admissions. I have continued attending IECA conferences in Baltimore and Boston. I completed the UCLA Certificate on College Counseling and volunteered as a Board member helping students from the Trenton Children's Chorus apply to college.
I work with students in my hometown of Princeton, NJ as well as students in Florida, Indiana, Ohio, Denver, California and various boarding schools. I have just taken on a client is Spain and potentially another in London. We work via Skype, FaceTime and Googledocs.
