I am the founder and principal counselor of Solas College Advisors. I have had the pleasure of working with domestic and international students in public and private high schools for over 20 years. As a professional college and school counselor, I am a licensed School Counselor in California, Massachusetts and Vermont, I will expertly educate and guide your child through the process of self-understanding, goal setting, college application development and college decision making.

I am privileged to share in the experience of students passage from high school to college as independent young adults. My practice focuses on finding the college that is right for a student. This means that they will adjust well academically, socially and financially but will also grow in those areas upon completion of their degree. I am inspired by each and every student’s journey and celebrate their personal achievements.

I have been a strong college access advocate for first generation college students and students from underrepresented backgrounds throughout my career. I was proud to be recognized as Volunteer of the Year by College Track, a national college access organization working with students in East Los Angeles. I continue to volunteer with the On Our Way To Success program at Newton South High School guiding students toward their goal of a college education. Throughout my career, I have worked with students with a range of learning styles and academic abilities.

I am a Professional Member of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), the New England Association for College Admission Counseling (NEACAC), and the American School Counseling Association (ASCA). I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Mary Washington, a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology/School Counseling from Lesley University and a post-master’s Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA. I have participated in Harvard University’s Summer Institute on College Admissions. My college travels have taken me across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe.
