Consult with families and college-bound students as they face the challenges of applying to and selecting the right fit college. Provide personalized and confidential one-on-one counseling through the college search, college list building, preparation, application, transfer, and admissions process.
Description of Services : • Review academic accomplishments and discuss course options.
• Testing options and recommendations.
• Review extracurricular activities and community service hours.
• Discuss major and career interests and provide informal assessments.
• Brainstorm potential schools based on the students interests and academic achievements.
• Discuss the College Admissions Process - Restrictive and non-Restrictive Applications.
• Review the Cost of Attendance and other considerations before the student selects a school.
• Review the Common Application, Coalition, and/or Florida Application process.
• Discuss the selection of recommenders and what the student should provide them.
• Assist Student with the preparation of a Resume or the review of an existing Resume.
• Brainstorm essay topics and review chosen essay for accuracy.
• Discuss college visits, questions to ask and what to expect.
• Share interviewing techniques and discuss demonstrated interest methods.
• Review FAFSA and scholarship opportunities.
• Discuss what to consider when reviewing acceptance letters and financial aid.
