Scott’s experience in the college admission and advising profession spans 30-plus years. He has gained a deep and nuanced understanding of all facets of the college search and selection process, academic coaching, and effective admission planning. Scott's support of students is anchored by their interests and goals; his expert knowledge of the enrollment landscape, institutional priorities and policies, and current data and trends offers confidence as they plan their educational journeys.
And, as a parent to a member of the high school class of 2024, he currently is living his profession!
Scott has managed admission and scholarship selection committees, reviewed thousands of student applications, and traveled widely for student recruitment in both domestic and international markets. Since 2003, Scott has supported students as the dean/director of college advising in selective independent day and boarding schools. He also has served for the past decade as an advisor and selection committee member for an organization that provides full, four-year funding to students from rural NC schools to study at private colleges/universities.
Additional experience includes managing institutional initiatives focused on curriculum and assessment, equity and inclusion, strategic planning, school accreditation, and faculty/staff hiring. Scott also has dedicated time to serve on counselor advisory boards for college admission offices, present and volunteer within professional organizations and his local community. Through his extensive experience as a college advisor, academic counselor, and program director, he has built a strong professional resource network in schools, colleges, and organizations across the U.S. and internationally.
